Nearly 4 years ago I finished an animation honoring 40 years of my favorite band, The Allman Brothers. It is bittersweet as they near the end of their run, but the recently released 1971 Fillmore East Recordings boxed set surely cements their brilliance in a new way. To celebrate that release, Universal Music asked me to create another animation of the Brothers, something I never thought I would be revisiting. Thanks to a rough script provided to me, I was able to come at the project in a fresh way, and I believe it is a nice companion piece to my first Allmanimation, as this documents the early days of a great band. Not only that, but images of Gregg and Duane Allman wearing satin and velvet in LA reminds us all that it is a lot of hard work to get to the top. Enjoy.
